Graduate Student Assistant

Salary and Working Hours

$3,724.00 – $5,810.00 per month. Work 20‑30 hours per week in a trainee capacity.

Location

America’s Job Center of California, Madera, California. Hybrid telework option may be available; office attendance required as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Vocational Rehabilitation Service Delivery Team in delivering vocational rehabilitation services to consumers.
  • Help counsel, plan, arrange, and coordinate vocational rehabilitation services for persons with physical or mental disabilities.
  • Maintain timely and accurate case documentation.
  • Act as liaison and consultant to employers and community organizations about hiring individuals with disabilities.
  • Work in both remote and in‑person formats, as described for the Remote Services Unit.
Minimum Requirements
  • Graduate student enrollment in an accredited college or university program.
  • Proof of enrollment and unofficial transcripts demonstrating coursework related to the position.
  • Work experience or coursework directly related to the responsibilities outlined.
Working Conditions

Primarily office‑based work in a DOR open‑office setting with a cubicle environment, and occasional off‑site community or partner locations. Requires use of a personal computer and office equipment, sometimes extended periods of sitting. Strong interpersonal skills necessary for interaction with consumers, the public, colleagues, and stakeholders.
