Summary:

Incumbents perform general and basic functions to support the operation of the Library. Responsibilities may include providing assistance for circulation and materials processing procedures; working with other colleges and the MOBIUS consortium to resolve ILL issues; and processing serials and materials.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily circulation desk operations, including checking in and checking out library materials; creating and updating online patron registration records; placing and removing holds on student records; handling cash transactions; and maintaining circulation policies. (B2)
  • Prepare statistical reports using integrated library software reporting systems. (B2)
  • Provide guidance/assistance to students in the use of technology and library materials. (B2)
  • Prepare library statistics reports by compiling relevant library data. (B2)
  • Monitor functionality of hardware and software on Library computers. (A1)
  • Maintain records of items received, stored, issued, and returned in library database. (A1)
  • Process incoming and outgoing materials requests using an integrated library system. (A1)
  • Maintain the library’s security by ensuring safe handling of library materials. (A1)
  • Prepare book displays to address relevant promotional topics. (A1)
  • Find substitute titles when requested library materials are unavailable. (A1)
  • Perform other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Associate’s degree or a minimum of a high school diploma and 2 years of related experience.
