New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Administrator of Unit 3 in Executive and Advocate Services (EAS), the incumbent uses program knowledge to provide analytical and technical clerical services in support of the day‑to‑day operations of the section. The support ensures the section can respond to and resolve incoming contacts timely. The incumbent is expected to be highly motivated, work independently or in a team environment, display good organization and time‑management skills, and perform multiple competing tasks.
Minimum Requirements- TAX PROGRAM ASSISTANT classification (Classes A, B,
C). Salary ranges: $3,167.00 – $3,967.00A, $3,546.00 – $4,439.00B, $3,899.00 – $4,880.00C. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
- Background investigation clearance required before hiring.
- Experience reviewing, sorting, and processing high volumes of documents, correspondence, or electronic records.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, case creation, and recordkeeping.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Experience using office equipment such as copiers, scanners, fax machines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Ability to learn and use Franchise Tax Board systems such as Taxpayer Information (TI), Taxpayer Folder, and Case Management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and follow detailed procedures, policies, and workflow instructions.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and strong work habits.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Customer service skills and the ability to respond professionally to internal and external customers.
- Experience maintaining logs, tracking sheets, or other workflow documentation.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Experience with inventory tracking, supply coordination, or maintaining office materials.
Office‑centered; required 4 or more days per week in the office.
