Medical Office Administrative Support & Medical Assistant
Busy medical practice is seeking an experienced full-time front office administrative support & medical assistant. You must be computer and tech savvy, able to continually multi‑task and prioritize, be organized, a problem solver, motivated, self‑reliant, and communicate with patients, vendors and staff with a positive and professional manner, especially under pressure. We are an extremely busy medical office so maintaining excellent patient and vendor rapport by being helpful and personable is extremely important.
At least one-year experience working in a medical office setting required. Must have experience with Practice Fusion, Kareo and Updox.
Practice Specialty:
Infectious Diseases, HIV, Men's Health. COVID-19 Screening and Testing. MUST be comfortable in this setting and following Proper PPE protocols. ONLY SERIOUS CANDIDATES should apply.
Salary: $15‑$16 /hr DOE

Monday‑Wednesday 8:45 am‑5:15 pm, Thursday‑Friday 7:45 am‑4:15 pm

Responsibilities- Assist the medical practice with daily office tasks, telephones, correspondence, emails, faxing, scheduling, reception, front and back office duties.
- Check patients in/out, efficiently collect copay’s/deductibles, process paperwork and patient orders. Review the physicians’ notes and provide the patient with a copy of the treatment plan.
- Set appointments and manage a busy/multi‑physician practice schedule.
- Verify insurance, confirm eligibility, copay/deductible amount, effective date, bill to address, and identify guarantor to submit claims for billing.
- Answer, screen and reply to phone calls on a multi‑line phone system.
- Liaise with patients on follow‑ups, orders and scheduling.
- Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments.
- Room patients; must be familiar with taking a patient’s vitals.
- Submit, follow‑up and process denials/appeals for office, procedure and medication prior authorizations.
- Process specimen and send to laboratory.
- Handle prior authorizations for medications, appointments or procedures.
Organized, self‑motivated, hard‑working, personable, compassionate, well‑mannered, well‑spoken, problem solver, positive, multi‑tasker, respectful. Friendly and cooperative, with constant interaction with patients, staff and other personnel.
Excellent time management, writing/grammar skills and penmanship.
Bilingual is a must, as our office is a multi‑cultural environment in dealing with patients, vendors and staff.
Must keep all work areas, patient records/files, materials clean and organized, and troubleshoot the workplace on a regular basis.
Your honesty, trustworthiness, ethics, compassion for others must be invariable.
