DAY

IN THE LIFE

A typical day as a Project Coordinator involves supporting multiple aspects of industrial and construction project operations to keep projects organized, compliant, and on schedule. You will review and process field labor timekeeping records, verify cost coding accuracy, coordinate with field leadership to resolve discrepancies, and support payroll and workforce reporting activities. Throughout the day, you will maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, correspondence, meeting records, and project files, ensuring information is current and accessible.

You will also assist with material purchasing, purchase order administration, inventory tracking, vendor coordination, and project management system updates. Working closely with project managers, field supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, and project controls personnel, you will help ensure accurate reporting, support audit and compliance requirements, and contribute to successful project execution through effective organization, communication, and administrative coordination.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Project Management, Accounting, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in project administration, project coordination, construction administration, project controls, payroll/timekeeping, procurement, or document control.
  • Experience processing labor timekeeping records, payroll support activities, cost coding, job costing, or workforce reporting.
  • Experience with material purchasing, purchase order administration, inventory management, or vendor coordination.
  • Experience maintaining project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, correspondence, meeting minutes, and project records.
  • Knowledge of construction project management processes, project reporting, labor tracking, cost control, document control, and records management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn project management, document control, procurement, and timekeeping systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, auditing, and administrative coordination skills with exceptional attention to detail.
