Position SummaryThe Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS) has two positions for Facilities Management Specialists. One is at the Southwest Sites (SWS) based at Stonefield in Cassville (Grant County) OR Mineral Point (Iowa County). The SWS position provides day-to-day facilities management and construction support services for the Southwest Sites (Pendarvis, First Capitol, Villa Louis, and Stonefield) and requires the ability to travel to those sites.
The other position is located at Old World Wisconsin (OWW) in Eagle (Waukesha County).
The Facilities Management Specialist ensures building systems, equipment, and grounds are safe, operational, and well-maintained; coordinates and monitors contractor and vendor activities; supports capital project execution; and helps ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and agency standards.
This role serves as an on-site technical and coordination resource, balancing hands‑on facilities support with contractor oversight, safety monitoring, and documentation.
Salary InformationThe salary will be between $28.00 - $32.00 per hour in accordance with the provisions of the current Compensation Plan. This position is in pay schedule 07, range 04. The civil service classification is Facilities Management Specialist 1. A 12‑month probationary period will be required.

Requirements- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a state‑owned vehicle.
- Ability to perform heavy manual and physically challenging work in all kinds of indoor and outdoor conditions and to use scaffolding and climb/work from ladders is required.
