Overview

Main Functions

Lallemand Plant Care is looking for an S&OP Manager at the business unit (BU) level. Reporting to the S&OP Director, the S&OP Manager plays an important role in managing processes to align sales, production, and supply chain activities, ensuring they meet both intercompany and customer demand while optimizing operational efficiency. With a moderate level of supervision and autonomy in decision making, key responsibilities include creating balanced, actionable plans, optimizing inventory levels, driving forecast accuracy, and improving operational efficiency.

The manager acts as process owner and integrator, ensuring coordination, data accuracy, and short- to mid-term balancing.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the S&OP process, ensuring alignment of sales forecasts, production plans, and inventory levels (up to 24-month horizon).
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular S&OP frequent meetings with key stakeholders to review and validate demand forecasts, production plans, supply constraints, and production capabilities.
  • Work closely with production planning and supply chain teams to ensure accurate production schedules, inventory management, and timely delivery of products.
  • Analyze demand and supply data to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations for balancing supply and demand evaluating short and medium-term.
  • Collaborate in new projects related to product development/registration and technology transference providing insights about operational efficiency aspects and potential bottlenecks.
  • Mediate interco transactions working as the focal point to evaluate and request internal supplying.
  • Support SKU management process providing essential information to keep the ERP database and the packaging instruction library updated and accurate.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the S&OP process; identify areas for improvement; report to senior management.
  • Contribute to improvement initiatives to optimize the S&OP process, enhance forecasting accuracy, and streamline operations.
  • Collaborate across functional teams to resolve supply chain disruptions, mitigate risks, and ensure smooth execution of the S&OP plan.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on the performance of the S&OP process, highlighting key insights, challenges, opportunities and recommended actions.
People management
  • Supervision of one coordinator, recruitment, onboarding, training, workflow organization, activity and performance tracking, schedule management, performance evaluation, skills and career development, etc.
  • The team will consist of three members, including yourself.
Internal and external relations
  • Internal:
    Site Directors, Production, Commercial, Regulatory, QC/QA.
  • External:
    Freight forwarders, Brokers, Suppliers.
Technical skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Over 10 years’ of progressive experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, operations, or logistics, in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Hands on experience leading or coordinating the monthly S&OP cycle (demand review, supply review, pre S&OP, executive S&OP)
  • Strong knowledge of S&OP, production planning, demand forecasting, supply planning, inventory management, KPI definition and performance tracking
  • Knowledge in interpreting market trends, supplier constraints, and economic indicators to adjust forecasts
  • Proficiency in S&OP software tools, advanced in Excel and other analysis tools, with knowledge of planning software and Microsoft 365 suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
An asset
  • Professional certifications such as APICS / ASCM (CPIM, CSCP, or S&OP Certificate) preferred
  • Experience working in cross functional and international environments an asset
  • Team coordination or first level people management is preferred
  • Verbal and written communication skills in French, German, Portuguese and/or Spanish a strong asset
