Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Minimum Salary for new to state candidates will be the minimum of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (Bureau) Compliance Manager, Supervisor I, the Compliance Analyst, Analyst I, reviews and inspects the less complex Bureau‑approved educational institutions for compliance with the provisions of the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009 and Bureau regulations.

The incumbent may be required to travel throughout California for field inspections. The position works 40 hours per week in an office setting; a remote‑centered flexible schedule may be available.
Minimum Requirements- Minimum qualifications for Analyst I and Analyst II are detailed in the Class Specification.

- Ability to respond to and manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong computer skills using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.) and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with a variety of people and organizations in a professional and courteous manner.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain cooperative and collaborative relationships within an organization and with outside partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication that adapts to meet the needs of the audience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, interpret, and review policies, procedures, regulations, etc.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and other tools to effectively manage and communicate with staff.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prepare and proofread written documents, including formal reports.
- Ability to exercise good judgment, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to develop and evaluate alternatives, analyze data, and present ideas and information effectively.
