Salary: $5,308.00 - $8,157.00 per month

Location: Mather, CA (Hybrid Telework available)

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Program Manager I (PM I), the Emergency Services Coordinator (ESC) is responsible for performing a broad range of technical, analytical, and administrative tasks related to the provision of federal and state disaster assistance grant programs, including Individual Assistance (IA), Interagency Recovery Coordination (IRC), and others. The ESC plans and coordinates program‑related efforts, organizes and monitors resources to support activities associated with implementing program objectives, and provides a wide range of other analytical and technical tasks.

Requires a high level of knowledge and experience in disaster program laws, regulations, policies, and damage assessments. The ESC prepares detailed plans and specifications, conducts technical research, makes detailed analysis, and analyzes situations to make appropriate recommendations. The ESC acts with independence while maintaining a routine workload and responding to short‑term tasks, and is responsible for meeting regulatory and internal deadlines on all assignments.

Duties are performed during both normal and disaster recovery operations, including field activities such as Preliminary Damage Assessments (PDAs), Joint Field Office (JFO) operations, and disaster assistance centers. Short‑notice travel may be required.

Working Conditions
  • Location: Individual Assistance Unit in Mather, CA
  • Hybrid Telework: Eligible for hybrid schedule; additional in‑office days may be required.
  • DMV Pull Program: Requires valid driver’s license with number, class, expiration date, and endorsements/restrictions.
  • Conflict of Interest: Must complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment.

  • Possesses strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Prioritizes workload and performs well under pressure during rapidly changing situations.
  • Able to work in remote locations or makeshift environments.
  • Demonstrates sound decision making and problem‑solving skills.
  • Exhibits leadership abilities as needed and represents the program professionally at meetings or briefings.
  • Follows established directions, protocols, and procedures.
