Plant Lean Leader

Responsibilities

• Assess current state performance, identify gaps, visualize and establish a plan for the future state, monitor progress and share best‑in‑class ideas and systems within the Johnson Controls Continuous Improvement & Production framework.
• Define, design and implement process improvements as part of the Johnson Controls Business System (JCBS), ensuring vertical and horizontal integration across the organization.
• Define improvement projects aligned with business strategies and priorities.
• Facilitate and coach improvement teams and plant staff, front‑line leaders, and associates in JCBS.
• Use kaizen funnel tracking and reporting systems to prepare detailed plans, drive project performance, and assure timely completion of transformational and continuous improvement projects.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop a plant Continuous Improvement Roadmap, driving breakthrough or best‑in‑class performance that balances internal plant efficiency and external customer‑focused projects.
• Assist Process Owners in identifying barriers to project success and driving changes when needed.
• Document improvement process learning and share best practices throughout AHU plants.
• Assist the Plant Manager with strategic initiatives to meet compliance standards, implement new systems, and design creative solutions for continuous improvement.
• Maintain accountability for delivering the plant’s annual goals and driving safety performance.
• Adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum five years in Continuous Improvement and five years as an operational frontline leader.
• Demonstrated high‑level performance and initiative to drive change and exceed expectations.
• Solid leadership skills, capable of managing both vertically and horizontally.
• Basic statistical knowledge and ability to apply statistics to product and process improvement projects.
• Certification from a reputable lean leading organization preferred.
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to exercise influence without authority.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and internet/email applications.

• Salary range: $100,000 – $150,000, depending on education, experience, skills and market data.
