Audit Consultant

• Conduct remote/hybrid audits and travel within the assigned territory to perform physical audits at customers' premises when required
• Establish classifications, premium basis and premium exposures according to company policy and ISO, NCCI and Independent Bureaus' policies and regulations
• Conduct audits of complex accounts, verifying policy classifications, exposure bases, subcontractor status and cost allocations
• Interview insureds to understand operations and business models and assess risks
• Determine employee job classifications based on roles, responsibilities and hazard exposure
• Compile and analyze operations and accounting records and inspect business premises
• Communicate audit findings and insured financial conditions to agents and branch underwriting
• Report questionable operations and suspected fraud to corporate investigations and underwriting
• Prioritize territorial policy review and audit assignments
• Stay current on specialty-area and insurance-industry trends and developments
• May assist with operational audits
• Report to a Manager or above

• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in accounting or finance, or equivalent
• Experience with ISO, NCCI & Independent Bureau States such as the California WCIRB is required
• Typically, a minimum of five years of related work experience
• PAAS Certification a plus
• Strong understanding of premium auditing practices and principles
• Familiarity with standard premium auditing procedures
• Strong knowledge of General Liability, Workers Compensation, and Business Auto Liability
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite Tools and strong premium audit system background
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Good working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel as needed for the role

Demonstrates expertise in premium auditing practices, including the ability to conduct complex audits, analyze financial conditions, and communicate findings effectively. Proficient in applying ISO, NCCI regulations, and industry standards while maintaining strong organizational and analytical skills.
