Summer Intern, Business Operations & Cost Optimization

• Create a program spend baseline covering race-event, logistics, purchasing, travel, freight, equipment, hospitality, and operational costs
• Conduct structured audits of processes and transactions to identify cost drivers, duplication, control gaps, compliance issues, and improvement opportunities
• Review budgets, invoices, purchase orders, forecasts, and actuals; reconcile discrepancies and summarize findings
• Build Excel-based analyses, dashboards, audit tools, and status reports for Program Management leadership
• Quantify potential savings and develop a prioritized cost-reduction pipeline
• Support business cases for approved cost-cutting measures
• Present audit findings and recommendations to Program Management leadership
• Track actions, owners, timing, and realized savings through implementation
• Assess inventory-control practices for trackside parts, spares, consumables, and equipment
• Reconcile inventory records to actual usage and identify excess, obsolete, or duplicate inventory

• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Data Analytics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Expected to graduate between December 2027 and May 2029
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the summer months
• Strong analytical, auditing, problem-solving, and process-improvement skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
• Excellent communication, presentation, organization, and attention-to-detail skills
• Ability to work independently and across cross-functional teams

• Preferred: experience with process auditing, cost accounting, budgeting, variance analysis, procurement controls, Lean or Six Sigma, continuous improvement, business-case development, financial or operational modeling, Power BI, dashboards, data visualization, automotive, motorsports, manufacturing, supply chain, event operations, executive-ready recommendations, or cross-functional implementation

Demonstrates strong analytical and auditing capabilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation. Experienced in process improvement, cost accounting, and budgeting within supply chain and operational contexts.
