Play Center Attendant

The City of Maryland Heights is accepting applications for a Part-time Play Center Attendant. This position works in the Community Center and is responsible for the care and safety of children in the Play Center.

Play Center Attendant is a part-time year-round position. The position works approximately 20-25 hours per week. The varied work schedule will include evenings, weekends and holidays. Individuals hired for this position must pass a drug test and a background check.

The position pays $15.40 per hour.

• Acts as the primary contact with parents; communicates with young children using words and behaviors appropriate for their age; demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills by interacting with parents and children in a professional manner.
• Ensures that equipment, toys, games and facilities are clean, sanitized, well-maintained and safe at all times.
• Receives and dismisses children to parents using approved security policies; engages children in creative play, songs and stories and provides a happy experience; familiarizes self with emergency procedures; performs duties as necessary to prepare for or respond to a disaster.
• Picks up trash and debris; uses check-in technology and radio communication devices; other duties as assigned.
