Field Engineer - Civil Infra & Construction Ops

Southland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for experienced Field Engineers in Vinton, LA. We are looking for someone with knowledge in drainage, utility, and roadway construction.

• Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals.
• Coordinate with subcontractors.
• Provide field layout to crews.
• Assist management with field & office operations such as ordering of materials and quality control, receive and review change orders.
• Assist more senior civil engineers with entry level engineering tasks.
• Assist with performing onsite construction administration and construction observation services including reporting/monitoring contractor's compliance with contract documents.
• Evaluate submittals of shop drawings, material data and samples and take appropriate action based on contract specifications, submission of correspondence to the owner and quantity tracking.
• Review and process as-built drawings to ensure that all changes during the course of construction are recorded and complete project close‑out requirements in accordance with contract documents.
• Coordinate meeting agendas, prepare minutes and follow up on action items.
• Maintain effective and professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers and contractors; execute additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Construction/related degree with 2+ years of heavy civil construction experience; excellent computer skills and analytical ability.
• Surveying capabilities;
  Microsoft Office experience.
• Understanding of industrial construction process.
• Ability to interpret contract specifications and drawings; knowledge of contract procedures and principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
• Ability to understand construction logic and sequencing of complex projects.
• Education:
  
  Associate degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering; relevant US experience can waive degree.
• Preferred: experience in civil infrastructure (USACE projects, pipeline, water treatment, concrete, marine, etc.); USACE CQM Certification.
• OSHA 30 training;
  AutoCAD experience.
• Bluebeam Revu Experience; P6 Experience.
