We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Superintendent to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work on ground‑up hotel construction for a very reputable and long‑standing firm. The successful candidate will assist in overseeing construction operations in the field, supporting the Lead Superintendent in driving the schedule and ensuring a successful project completion.

This is a traveling position.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in coordinating and supervising all construction activities under the direction of the Lead Superintendent.
  • Supporting field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
  • Reading and understanding construction documents, including plans, specifications, and contracts.
  • Assisting in coordinating with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring all construction work is carried out in accordance with design development and construction documents.
  • Helping maintain job site control, including layout, safety, and quality control.
  • Assisting in resolving day‑to‑day problems on the job site, ensuring the project is kept on schedule.
  • Supporting the preparation, scheduling, and supervision of the final punch list.
  • Promoting job site safety, encouraging safe work practices, and rectifying job site hazards immediately.
  • Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3–5 years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent or in a similar field‑based role in the construction industry.
  • Experience working on ground‑up construction projects; hotel or hospitality construction experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, means and methods, and understanding of building materials, construction equipment, and tools.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding construction documents, including plans, specifications, and contracts.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently and for extended periods.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of construction health and safety regulations.
  • A degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
