Job Overview
The Foreman for Primoris Heavy Civil in Louisiana will be responsible for leading and supervising a crew on various heavy civil construction projects. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, adhering to project specifications and schedules.
Responsibilities- Direct and supervise a crew of construction workers, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
- Implement and enforce all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications.
- Plan daily work activities, including material and equipment needs, and coordinate with superintendents and project managers.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to keep the project on track.
- Operate various heavy equipment as needed, such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety meetings with the crew.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, including crew hours, equipment usage, and progress updates.
- Train and mentor crew members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure the quality of work performed meets or exceeds project requirements and company standards.
- Communicate effectively with project management, clients, and other stakeholders.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or relevant certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 2 years in a leadership or foreman role.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Strong understanding of heavy civil construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and a strong safety record.
- Ability to operate various heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for reporting and communication.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
