The Superintendent is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by overseeing and managing all on‑site activities during construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. The role coordinates subcontractors, monitors progress, maintains safety standards, and resolves any issues that arise on the job site, acting as the primary point of contact on the construction site to ensure smooth operation and project success.

Job Responsibilities
  • Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
  • Coordinates with Field Supervision and Subcontractors to plan and support construction schedules.
  • Is responsible for quantity take‑off (with Field Engineering), quantity control, tracking, reporting, and forecasting for civil discipline.
  • Prepares cost estimates for civil construction activities and supports the preparation of cost reports, forecasts, and progress reports.
  • Oversees tool and equipment usage on the project site.
  • Manages the preparation of Field Material Requisition s for tools, consumables, equipment, and equipment servicing to ensure that the craft professionals have the necessary tools.
  • Ensures the most current design documents are used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
  • Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance comply with specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
  • Coordinates subcontract activities to ensure civil materials, equipment, and quality comply with design plans and specifications.
  • Hire, motivate, and lead a high‑performing team through coaching, talent retention, and directed recruiting efforts.
  • Supervises the team, including training, providing work direction, problem‑solving assistance, reviewing performance, and recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Required Skills and Competencies
  • Effectively communicates in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers, the public, employees, vendors, etc.
  • Uses appropriate computer programs (including not only Microsoft Office Suite but also other relevant software), demonstrates proficient computer skills, and adapts to new programs and processes.
  • Works as a team member, exercising initiative to work independently to reach goals.
  • Embraces change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches.
  • Functions effectively as a team player and collaborator.
  • Works a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, when needed to serve business operations.
  • Maintains a valid and current driver’s license.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in the construction of concrete, bridges, structures, and roads; proven ability to lead and manage a multi‑discipline workforce on heavy‑civil construction projects. A valid and current driver’s license is required. A high school diploma is preferred.
