Position Summary:Superintendent I - Front-End supports the early phases of construction, focusing on sitework, utilities, foundations, podium structures, and all preparation activities required before modular installation.
Key Responsibilities:Project Planning & Scheduling
- Understand and evaluate project schedule feasibility, including early-phase activities and modular readiness.
- Develop and maintain 3-week lookahead schedules and micro-schedules in Smartsheet.
- Demonstrate understanding of critical path planning and sequencing for civil, structural, and podium scopes.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential delays through risk analysis of upcoming scopes (readiness, missing info, sequencing).
- Oversee daily on-site activities, coordinating efforts among subcontractors to meet project milestones.
- Lead subcontractor huddles and conduct weekly foreman meetings independently.
- Manage daily field activities with minimal oversight, ensuring alignment with schedule and quality standards.
- Delegate and coordinate responsibilities for Assistant Superintendents and provide performance feedback.
- Maintain jobsite quality and enforce company safety protocols.
- Lead daily safety walkthroughs (minimum 3 documented per week) and correct deficiencies.
- Coordinate inspections and testing with limited oversight; manage site-specific emergency response plans.
- Complete OSHA 30 certification and actively apply safety standards.
- Write complete and clear RFIs with supporting information; submit via Smartsheet with minimal PM edits.
- Track RFI responses and coordinate field execution based on returned information.
- Submit accurate daily reports and weekly KPI updates consistently.
- Act as the primary on-site contact for clients, architects, and inspectors; lead client site visits and progress meetings.
- Represent TetriX Modular professionally to subcontractors, clients, and internal teams; maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders.
- Lead daily coordination with subcontractors, monitoring performance and contract adherence.
- Own site logistics, sequencing, and manpower alignment for all trades.
- Manage subcontractor progress and participate in subcontractor coordination meetings.
- Confidently use Smartsheet for schedule management, RFI logs, and documentation.
- Build micro-schedules and maintain accurate project tracking tools.
- Assist with daily supervision of sitework, grading, trenching, and underground utility installation.
- Support layout verification, reinforcing placement, embeds, sleeves, and formwork preparation before concrete activities.
- Help coordinate civil, concrete, shoring, waterproofing, structural, and early MEP subcontractors.
- Monitor quality and readiness of the building pad, utility connections, and structural elements required for modular installation.
- Assist with pre-modular checks, including site access, staging clearances, survey control points, and crane logistics.
- Support development of early site logistics plans, including fencing, access paths, delivery routes, and laydown areas.
- Help establish the jobsite by assisting with:
- Temporary utilities (power, water, sanitary, telecom)
- Jobsite office setup and maintenance
- Safety signage, site controls, and traffic management
- Experience:
Minimum 2-4 years in construction, with exposure to civil, structural, or podium work. - Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in construction preferred. - Certifications:
OSHA 30 required;
First Aid/CPR preferred. - Technical
Skills: - Proficiency in Smartsheet or similar project management tools.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and survey data.
- Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of site safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with modular construction processes is a plus.
