About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Traveling Superintendent with a strong background in water and wastewater treatment plant construction. This is an excellent opportunity for a field leader who enjoys working on complex treatment plant projects and is comfortable traveling to projects across the Gulf Coast and Southeast.
The Superintendent will take ownership of day-to-day field operations, providing leadership to craft personnel, subcontractors, and project teams while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Experience with self-performed concrete, mechanical/process piping, process equipment installation, and sitework is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily field operations and jobsite personnel
- Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure all work complies with company and project safety requirements
- Plan short-term manpower, equipment, and material requirements
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and other project stakeholders
- Monitor project progress and ensure schedules and milestones are met
- Coordinate inspections, permits, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate daily reports, JSA documentation, equipment records, and quantity tracking
- Oversee material receiving, inventory, storage, and equipment logistics
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure work is being executed correctly
- Identify changes in scope and communicate them to the Project Manager
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation and project records
- Oversee jobsite organization, housekeeping, and security
- Participate in project closeout and post-construction reviews
- Manage small tools and field resources
- Support manpower planning and jobsite hiring when required
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
Preferred Background
- 5+ years of Superintendent experience, ideally within water/wastewater construction
- 10+ years of construction experience
- Experience with water and wastewater treatment plants
- Strong understanding of underground utilities, process piping, mechanical systems, and concrete
- Experience overseeing subcontractors and self-perform crews
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Strong scheduling, communication, and field leadership skills
- Comfortable working on projects that require significant travel
- Experience with CMAR, Design-Build, or other collaborative project delivery methods is a plus
