Together with the senior pastor and worship team, the worship leader will prepare and deliver worship elements of Sunday worship services to include primarily music but also other visual and performing arts, scripture, prayer and lighting.
Reports to:
Senior Pastor and elder board
- Music & Other Worship Elements:
- Prayerfully plans music and other worship elements with primary focus on ministering to the Lord and with secondary consideration to the week’s theme
- Runs practice for worship service
- Plans extra services, which may include Christmas Eve and Good Friday
- Other extra worship elements, such as offering prayer and announcements, as needed
- Schedules and coordinates with guest worship leader and team about all important details when needed to be absent from worship
- Promotes authentic worship of the Lord, according to Emmanuel’s Core Values:

- Coordinates worship team
- Coordinates with others involved in the worship service, including but not limited to: lay leaders, Communion servers, decoration team, guest pastors, church secretary
- Communication and coordination on Sunday morning communication, planning during the week, and planning meetings
- Oversees recruitment, training, scheduling and mentoring of the worship teams, including: musicians and vocalists, worship leaders, tech team members, lighting helpers
- Stewardship:
Oversees the formulation and spending of worship budget, including coordination with the tech team leader; ensures care and upkeep of instruments and technology, stage area and A/V booth; keeps necessary licenses current and compliant with copyright laws

Salary, $400 weekly

Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church is a vital Christian community overlooking beautiful Hermann, Missouri. Emmanuel is blessed to have impactful worship, a strong youth ministry and an abundance of God’s love among its people. Weekly worship averages approximately 135, with additional worship with 50 youth on Wednesday evenings. The volunteer worship team includes 12-15 musicians (vocal, piano, guitar, bass, percussion) and 6-8 AV, sound and light technicians.
