We are seeking an experienced radio news anchor and reporter for weekend morning broadcasts in multiple major markets. This is not an entry‑level position; it requires a strong background in broadcast news.
Responsibilities- Anchor multiple market newscasts
- Write, record, and edit audio and text for broadcast
- Create news content for web and social media
- Monitor sources for breaking news (wires, social media)
- Work weekends and fill in during the week as needed
- Use digital audio editing software to finalize content
- Maintain crucial deadlines to provide timely news stories
- Repackage content from producers and field reporters for newscasts
- College degree in journalism or 3‑5 years of broadcast news experience
- Strong passion for news, curiosity, and excellent interviewing skills
- Exceptional comprehension, writing, and editing abilities with contemporary style
- Advanced pronunciation and on‑air language skills
- Clear, engaging voice with modern delivery
- Strong storytelling instincts
- Solid technical aptitude and ability to learn new tools quickly
- Experience with web publishing and social media
- Knowledge of audio recording, editing, and sound selection for news
- Respect for others and collaborative mindset
- Full proficiency in job functions with independent work capability
- Strong problem‑solving skills and process improvement commitment
- Professional communication with diplomacy, empathy, and patience
Hourly rate: $27.20 – $34.00, determined by experience and market data.
