Job Type: Part Time
Requirements- Provide a resume and a short 1–3 minute video of vocal performance.
- Basic knowledge of the Christian Faith (Protestant) and familiarity with musical traditions/customs of the Protestant contemporary community.
- Training and experience in worship planning with musical instrument abilities.
- Capability to direct, produce, and arrange music.
- Ability to read sheet music (not required). Preferred if able to play keyboard and/or guitar with tempo, rhythm, and registration suitable for a large congregation.
- Proficient in quality vocal performance, learning new music via sheet music or chords.
- Ability to play at least one musical instrument.
- Recruit and develop volunteer musicians and vocalists of all ages, build cohesive music teams/choirs.
- Lead congregational worship effectively (determined by video or in person).
- Lead a music team to perform a wide variety of Protestant worship music, including the full range of contemporary worship music.
- Lead and provide services at the Protestant contemporary service.
- Coordinate with the Senior Protestant Chaplain or designee to plan for all Protestant contemporary services, including Sunday morning worship and special events.
- Direct the worship team with guidance from the Senior Protestant Chaplain or designee.
- Weekly song selection that is fitting and appropriate for Protestant contemporary service per the chaplain’s vision.
- Conduct rehearsals at least once a week, but not on the same day as the worship service.
- Distribute selected songs to the worship team no later than 24 hours before rehearsal.
- Assist in the set‑up and tear‑down of musical equipment for each service as required.
- Arrive no later than 10 minutes before rehearsal and no later than 30 minutes before service or special event.
- Maintain a written log of work performed under this contract.
