Fall/Winter Internship

Between October 20th, 2026 – January 15th, 2027 for 11 weeks

Pyramid Atlantic offers a paid internship opportunity for serious artists aged 18 and older. Interns are a vital part of the Pyramid team, gaining hands‑on experience in printmaking, paper making, and book arts. They work with a variety of communities, from the general public to professional artists, while learning the day‑to‑day operations of a non‑profit art center and gallery.

Schedule

The internship lasts 11 weeks. The work schedule will be 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays (two times a week). Interns are also expected to work on their art at least once a week.

Typical Intern Tasks
  • Maintaining the studios for visiting artists, renters, and outreach events
  • Helping in the gallery with exhibition preparation, installation, and de‑installation
  • Assisting in the production of prints or handmade paper
  • Setting up and breaking down evening programs
  • Assisting at events such as gallery openings, fundraisers, and artist talks
  • Working at the front desk
  • Preparing for workshops by setting up studios, prepping materials, and coordinating with the instructor
Compensation and Benefits
  • Honourarium of $2,000, paid monthly or bi‑weekly according to the intern’s preference
  • Interns may book studio time at no cost to work on their art
  • Interns may take one workshop of their choice, paying only for material fees
  • Interns can participate in a critique session with the Studio Manager and visiting artists
  • Note:

    Housing is not provided
Qualifications

Candidates should have a strong interest in printmaking, bookmaking, or paper making and be highly motivated and comfortable working in a studio environment. Preference will be given to candidates residing in the DMV area.
