Responsibilities
- Design compelling book covers, interiors, and supporting materials across a variety of formats and age categories
- Collaborate with editorial, franchise/licensing, and production teams throughout the development process
- Work with illustrators, photographers, and external creative partners to bring projects to life
- Prepare files for print and digital publishing formats
- Contribute to the development of visual systems, templates, and design guidelines that support brand consistency
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and production schedules
- Bachelor’s degree (BA, BFA) and/or equivalent design education
- 5+ years of experience in publishing design
- Solid portfolio demonstrating excellence in book cover design, interior design (1‑color and 4‑color), typography, and visual storytelling
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Knowledge of print production, file preparation, color management, and publishing workflows
- Experience finding, hiring, collaborating with, and art directing illustrators
