Technical Media Producer (P/T) - KMOV
KMOV is seeking a talented, energetic, and detail-oriented Technical Media Producer (TMP) to join our award-winning team. The Technical Media Producer is responsible for directing live or pre-recorded productions, monitoring KMOV's on-air signals, transmitters, and FCC logs, ingesting daily programming and commercials, and monitoring programming playlist automation. This part-time position offers a dynamic, varying schedule perfect for a broadcast professional looking to make an impact in a top-tier newsroom.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Direct & Produce:
Direct live and pre-recorded productions as assigned, ensuring high production value and seamless execution. - Technical Execution:
Execute newscasts using the Ross Overdrive system and build/maintain custom functionality within the system. - Newsroom Systems:
Utilize the ENPS newsroom computer system to coordinate scripts, rundowns, and production elements. - Studio Operations:
Support all studio operations, including the setup and operation of studio lighting and audio equipment. - Collaborative Communication:
Communicate effectively and professionally with newsroom team members, control room staff, and other departments during daily operations. - Compliance & Monitoring:
Monitor on-air signals, transmitter status, and maintain accurate FCC logs. Ingest daily programming and commercials, and monitor playlist automation. - Adaptability:
Perform other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications/Requirements include:
- Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a live broadcast television environment with hands-on control room experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with the Ross Overdrive system and master control automation systems is highly preferred. - Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Television, Media Production, Communications, or a related field is preferred. - Regulatory Knowledge:
Strong understanding of FCC broadcast regulations, program logs, and transmitter logs. - Equipment Familiarity:
Solid technical understanding of studio and production equipment (e.g., cameras, switchers, audio boards, and graphics systems). - Schedule Flexibility:
Ability to work a variable schedule, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate changing shifts, station projects, and breaking news.
