CBS LA has immediate openings for a full-time News writer/Producer to join our Newsroom. The Duopoly (KCBS-TV & KCAL-TV), produces over 90 hours of news each week. You will be a key member of the team, that’s critical to the overall CBS LA brand and growth of the station.
We are seeking a dedicated, efficient, accurate and creative writer for this position. You’ll write scripts, edit video, create graphics, and assist in the overall production of stories for the Newscasts. This is a Writers Guild of America position and membership in WGA is required.
News Writer/Producer Role TypeFull-time
Requirements- At least five years’ experience, preferably in a top 20 market
- Newswriting, line producing, editing, and storytelling experience
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of personnel to create compelling content
- Maintain a steadfast commitment to accuracy and fairness
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic, quickly changing environment is essential
- Strong Tease/Promo writing
- Experience with Avid iNEWS, and Grass Valley Edius System a plus
- Available to work any shift as assigned in a 24/7 newsroom, including weekends & overnights
Compensation: $76,596 - $104,832 /year USD
