Job Description
Outlook Newspaper Group is hiring for a page designer. We are looking for someone highly proficient with InDesign, Photoshop and any experience with Illustrator or BLOX CMS is desirable.
ResponsibilitiesConceptualize and design compelling layouts for newspaper articles, advertisements, and special features, adhering to brand guidelines and editorial standards.
Develop original graphics, illustrations, charts, and infographics to accompany editorial content and enhance reader comprehension.Work closely with editors, writers, and photographers to ensure visual elements effectively complement written content and convey key messages.
Select, edit, and retouch photographs for publication, ensuring high quality and relevance to the content.
Assist in the creation of advertisements for local businesses, incorporating client specifications while maintaining the newspaper’s aesthetic standards.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality designs within specified deadlines.
Organize and maintain a library of design assets, including fonts, templates, and graphics, for efficient reuse and consistency across editions.
Newspaper page layout experience highly valued
2+ years of professional experience in graphic design, preferably in print media or publishing.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), BLOX CMS and other relevant design tools.
Strong creative vision and ability to translate concepts into visually appealing designs under time pressure.
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design work, including layout designs, illustrations, and other relevant projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field is preferred.
