Job Summary

The Videographer/ Photographer position is an on-mountain position that requires expert skiing/riding abilities and experience with on-snow videography/ photography/ . This role requires strong time management skills, self-supervisory, personal judgment and communication skills.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Highly self motivated with keen sense of judgment on and off the mountain.
  • Be able to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines to meet the objective of the Marketing Department supporting the Bear Valley brand.
  • Arrange scenes and shots to be taken, selects shooting angles, determines illumination and positions equipment to support the Bear Valley brand using the model of safe skiing and personal judgment.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including the 5am snow phone duties as requested.
  • Demonstrate an on-going commitment to delivering excellent customer service. This involves interacting with guests in a courteous manner, and being able to answer questions professionally.
  • Professional and friendly communication with other Departments.
  • Maintain clean, well-organized and professional workstations.
  • Follow all Bear Valley Handbook Policies and Procedures.
Skills and Competencies
  • Must be an expert skier/rider.
  • Must have 3-5 years experience working in ski industry and sport photography/videography.
  • Extensive knowledge of the equipment, tools and supplies used in the taking, processing, enhancing and use of photographs with all equipment on site.
  • Strong computer skills and extensive knowledge and use of computer programs.
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment such as small hand camera, enlargers, large precision cameras, Mac Pro and all related auxiliary equipment.
Work Schedules

Weather, snow conditions and the number of guests play a large role intheworkscheduling of Bear Valley employees.

When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week,including weekends and holidays. During busy periods especially the holiday periods in December andthemonthsof

January and

February youmaybeexpectedtoworksix(6) daysa week.

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arriveatyourdesignatedworkstationat the scheduled time.

Keep in mind that you will oftenberequiredtodriveonhilly,snow packed, and icy road.

Working Conditions

Atanytimeduringtheskiseason,Bear Valleyemployeesareoftenrequiredtoperformtheir tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

Uniforms

A professional appearance at Bear Valley is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. This uniform is for work hours ONLY, no exceptions.

You will be required to provide some items as part of your job.

The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Bear Valley logo while on shift.

The skiing/riding employee represents a model for safe skiing for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies of the mountain.
