The Hollywood Reporter is seeking a highly creative, fast-moving Social Media Producer to create premium, social-first content around the biggest names and moments in entertainment.
This is a hands‑on video and social content role that is equal parts creative and strategy. From red carpets and awards shows to film festivals, premieres, exclusive interviews, cover shoots and behind‑the‑scenes access, this producer will help capture and translate THR’s unparalleled access into compelling social content.
The ideal candidate has a strong creative eye, excellent editorial instincts and knows how to work confidently and professionally around high‑profile actors, directors, producers, musicians, executives and other talent.
This person should be equally comfortable filming a celebrity interview on an iPhone, capturing behind‑the‑scenes moments at a THR cover shoot, quickly editing a red carpet clip, translating an editorial feature into an Instagram carousel, writing an irresistible caption and publishing content across multiple social platforms in real time.
You will work closely with THR’s Studio, editorial, video, photo and social teams to shape how The Hollywood Reporter shows up across Instagram, Tik Tok, You Tube, You Tube Shorts, Facebook, Threads, X and emerging platforms.
What You’ll Do- Concept, shoot, edit and publish premium social‑first content including Reels, Tik Toks, You Tube Shorts, videos, carousels and graphics, translating THR interviews, articles, exclusives, cover stories and breaking entertainment news into engaging social storytelling
- Own social publishing and platform optimization across Instagram, Tik Tok, You Tube, Facebook, Threads and X, creating strong captions, headlines, hooks, thumbnails and platform‑specific packaging while helping maintain a consistent publishing calendar
- Produce real‑time coverage from red carpets, premieres, awards shows, film festivals and major entertainment events, filming interviews with high‑profile talent and quickly identifying and publishing compelling, funny, unexpected or newsworthy moments
- Capture exclusive behind‑the‑scenes content from THR cover shoots, photo and video shoots, round tables, interviews and special events, developing creative concepts that give audiences access to candid and personality‑driven moments
- Travel as needed for major festivals and entertainment events, including Cannes, TIFF and Sundance, creating and publishing planned and spontaneous social content from THR studios, lounges, premieres, panels, parties and talent interviews
- Shoot and edit polished social video on fast turnarounds, using iPhones and other production tools with a strong understanding of lighting, audio, composition and framing, and editing in Adobe Premiere Pro and other social editing platforms
- Help execute THR’s You Tube and You Tube Shorts strategy, identifying strong moments from interviews, round tables, original franchises and THR’s video archive and optimizing content for discoverability, click‑through rate and watch time
- Use analytics and audience insights to inform creative decisions and audience growth, while supporting sponsored campaigns, branded entertainment, custom activations and social coverage around client events when needed
- At least 3+ years of experience creating social media and video content for an entertainment, media, publishing or news brand
- Experienced and confident working around high‑profile talent, publicists and entertainment industry professionals in red carpet, premiere, festival, awards show and live‑event environments
- A social media native with a deep understanding of Instagram, Tik Tok, You Tube and other major social platforms
