POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Representative manages assigned accounts in a manner that allows customer orders to be processed through the company in a timely and efficient fashion to meet customer and company specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Be aware of the status and progress of all assigned accounts
- Be up to date on all procedures
- Identify problems early and make every effort to propose a solution to ensure on-time deliveries
- Be available to receive and place calls to sales representatives and customers as needed, including prospecting for new business when needed
- Keep a customer file on every assigned account
- Prioritize and schedule work assignments so that they are completed in a timely manner
- Cover for your colleague during their absences
- Build relationships with customers, co-workers and sales reps
- Travel and give presentations at workshops
- Participate in training sessions as requested
- Continuous training to enhance and further knowledge of software and production for continuous improvement
- Attend functions after hours and/or on weekends when needed
- Maintain current industry knowledge.
- Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree would be a plus.
- With two (2) or more years of relevant Customer Service work experience.
- Communicate effective and professionally (both verbally and in writing) with others inside and outside the organization
- Excellent phone skills.
- Good problem-solving skills, such as being able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations. Must be able to timely resolve issues calmly and rationally.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished written or verbally.
- Apply common sense to carry out detailed tasks.
- Translate previous work experience into very good problem-solving skills and appropriately apply proven solutions.
- Requires the ability to operate a wide variety of standard office equipment such as a computer and keyboard, calculator, telephone, FAX machine, photocopier, etc.
- Functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Office applications including excel, word, access, outlook, and other technical tools to complete work assignments.
- Must be able to manage one task to another and handle stressful situations easily.
- Always represent yourself and the department as a team.
- Proficient basic math skills.
- Ability to organize tasks and ensure timely completion of assigned projects
- Requires a very high level of attention to detail.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
- Consistently deliver prescribed outcomes in a timely and accurate manner with appropriate guidance.
- May require knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn specialized software related to the position.
- Able to understand general business concepts and apply them when communicating with diverse groups of people when completing work assignments.
