About the RoleAs a Host, you will be the first point of contact for guests, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive experience from the moment they arrive. Your primary objective is to manage guest seating efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. You will coordinate with the service team to ensure smooth operations and timely service delivery. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills to handle reservations, waitlists, and guest inquiries effectively.
Ultimately, your efforts will contribute significantly to customer satisfaction and the overall success of the establishment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for managing reservations and waitlists.
- Experience working as a host or in a similar front-of-house role.
- Familiarity with reservation management software such as Open Table or Resy.
- Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.
- Knowledge of food and beverage menus to assist guests effectively.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Greet and welcome guests promptly and courteously upon arrival.
- Manage reservations and waitlists using the restaurant’s booking system.
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus, ensuring they are comfortable.
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate seating and service flow.
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station and entrance area.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required.
