Salary Range: $18.00 To $22.00 Hourly

Job Summary

This position is devoted to successfully overseeing the many aspects of resort product sales and guest experience at Bear Valley Mountain Resort. This team member is responsible for providing knowledgeable and friendly sales and service from the first point of contact. This role is responsible for managing the Guest Services phone, email account, selling season passes, same day tickets/rentals, and greeting people as they arrive at the resort.

A successful member of this team will understand and appreciate the opportunity to provide exceptional guest experience and work hard to consistently exceed customer expectations.

Full Time and Part Time positions available.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

This job description is intended as a summary of the primary responsibilities and necessary qualifications for the position.   • Accurately and efficiently process lift tickets and season passes while capturing guest data
  • Effectively communicate with guests about product types, prices, special offers
  • Provide timely and accurate information about products purchased and prepare guests for their visit
  • Provide pre- and post-sales support through phone calls and email communication
  • Create, source and share materials with new guests to prepare them for their first visit
  • Assist guests with inquiries, directions and other resort information
  • Manage Lost and Found items including follow up communication with guests
  • Manage the Guest Services email account and phones
  • Navigate and assist guests with e-Store purchases – make updates as required
  • Close sales at POS registers at the end of each day using best practices outlined by Accounting
  • Collaborate and communicate with Marketing, Rentals, Lesson Desk/Ski and SB School, and other departments
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills and Competencies
  • Experience in customer service/sales/reservations
  • Ability to provide quality customer service and interact with guests on a professional level
  • Ability to develop a thorough understanding of the Axess and Sumo point of sale systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, and website navigation
  • Ability to maintain a positive, friendly and helpful attitude in all situations
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Proven ability to work with a minimum of supervision, and take initiative to address problems
Work Schedules

Weather, snow conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work schedule for Bear Valley Mountain Resort employees.

When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 32 to 40 hours per week including weekends and holidays. During busy periods – particularly the holiday periods in December, January and February – you may be expected to work additional hours and/or days.

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you may be required to drive on hilly, snow packed, and icy roads. The employee shuttle is available from select locations along highway 4 for return transport to and from work.

Working Conditions

At any time during the ski season, Bear Valley employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

Employees working inside can expect a noisy environment and frequent contact with guests and other resort employees.

Uniforms

A professional appearance at Bear Valley Mountain Resort is required, and some uniform items will be provided as part of your role, including light shirt/hoody, hat and nametag.

The skiing/riding employee represents a model for safe skiing for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies of the mountain.
