Location: Gravois Mills
Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC), a Missouri non‑profit federally qualified health center serving Pulaski, Laclede, Camden, and Miller counties for over 40 years, is hiring a Dental Assistant for our Laurie Clinic. Responsibilities- Assist the dentist with all dental procedures, as directed.
- Take dental x‑rays; develop and prepare the x‑rays for evaluation by the dentist.
- Clean, sterilize, lubricate instruments.
- Provide dental education for patients and families as required.
- Perform general lab procedures as required.
- Assist with inventory and ordering of dental supplies.
- Maintain operatories, waiting room, and laboratory in proper order.
- Assist the dental receptionist with scheduling, chart maintenance, and other clerical duties as required.
- Perform other appropriate duties as required.
- GED or high‑school diploma; graduation from a dental assisting educational program.
- Dental assisting experience preferred; expanded functions preferred.
- CPR certified or willing to obtain certification within the probationary period and maintain it throughout employment.
Language skills:
Respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients and effectively present information to the Dental Director.
- Mathematical skills: knowledge of fundamental math, adding machine, calculator, and Microsoft Office.
- Reasoning ability: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Customer service: excellent customer service skills.
Moderate physical effort, occasionally lifting or moving over 50 pounds of weight.
Travel RequirementMay be required to travel to all COMC locations. Must have a valid Missouri driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle. Overnight travel may be required for training or conferences.
Work EnvironmentCompliance with HIPAA and 340B regulations. Confidentiality of patient information is mandatory. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
