Under direct and indirect supervision, the Dental Assistant (DA) will assist the Dentist and Registered Dental Assistants (RDA) in both administrative and clinical duties. As a credentialed professional, the DA must act only within the scope of their licensure. In addition to clinical support for the Dentist, this individual is responsible for helping the Dentist in creating the ideal treatment plan and educating the patient on the best options for their dental health.

The DA will provide patient support services; including, but not limited to, personal assistance, medical attention, and emotional support. The DA must live by and implement the company core values to achieve our company mission. This position has a performance-based incentive.

Adhere to strict safety guidelines and procedures to OSHA and office standards. Using and maintaining hazard control protocols as established by OSHA and office standards.

  • Follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocol.
  • Always maintain the highest level of confidentiality to HIPAA standards.
  • Perform all duties allowed under the California Dental Board regulations for dental assistants.
  • Follow company guidelines regarding the ideal treatment plan to provide patients with a comprehensive diagnosis.
  • Ensure treatment consent is obtained and electronically signed forms are on file, prior to treatment being rendered, including medical releases.

Escort patients to workstations and answer any general questions or forward patient questions or concerns to the dentist when necessary.

  • Timely prepare treatment area by sterilizing, positioning, and delivering instruments for dentist’s access.
  • Timely lab and case management.
  • Actively provide hand instruments and materials as needed to Dentist or Registered Dental Assistant during exams and procedures to help maintain patient comfort and efficiency.
  • Work with the doctor to build up patient trust.
  • Travelling between Suave Dental locations is required, when needed.
  • Other duties and tasks, as assigned periodically.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Preferred diploma or certificate from an approved dental assisting program as accredited by CODA.
  • Preferred one year of dental practice experience.
  • Infection control certification.
  • Current Xray license required.
