Station Development Manager – Supervising Transportation Planner
$10,551.00 - $11,981.00 per Month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
Under the general direction of the California High-Speed Rail Authority’s (Authority) Deputy Director of Architecture and Development, the Supervising Transportation Planner (Station Development Manager) is responsible for directing a variety of complex activities related to the advancement of the Authority’s station planning and delivery. The Station Development Manager will organize and plan outreach to local jurisdictions and stakeholders to meet deadlines and requirements for station development and station area planning, including commercial development.
The role will coordinate with delivery teams to resolve identified building permitting issues and anticipate new issues that may arise during the planning, design and initial construction process. All work will be completed in accordance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
Part‑time telework is available for California residents based on the position’s requirements and may be discussed during the interview process. Hiring interviews may be available virtually, using teleconferencing or video conferencing options.
While working on‑site, the incumbent works in a professional office environment, in a climate‑controlled area that may fluctuate in temperature and is under artificial light. The incumbent will be required to use a computer, mouse, and keyboard, and will be required to sit for long periods of time at a computer screen. The employee must be able to focus for long periods of time, manage multiple tasks, adapt to changes in priorities, and complete tasks or projects with short notice.
The employee must develop and maintain cooperative working relationships and display professionalism and respect for others in all contact opportunities.
- SUPERVISING TRANSPORTATION PLANNER
- Experience advancing building and/or facility design and permitting to meet schedule requirements.
- Experience working with local jurisdictions to address concerns and resolve issues.
- Experience planning and developing transit facilities.
- Experience managing the performance of contractors, consultants and/or service providers and leading an integrated team.
- Experience with planning and design for commercial development of real property assets.
- Experience managing competitive grants and/or other federally funded projects.
- Awareness and sensitivity to social, economic and environmental conditions affecting transportation planning.
- Ability to solve problems, delegate responsibility to others, inspire the confidence of others.
- Ability to logically organize and present information, identify problems and formulate recommended actions.

LocationThis position can be located in Sacramento County, Santa Clara County, and Fresno County. The High-Speed Rail Authority Fresno building is located in downtown Fresno at 1111 H Street. The Authority is within walking distance of public transportation, many restaurants, Chukchansi Park, and Courthouse Park.
