Instagram seeks a highly skilled Product Designer to shape the future of our products. As a key member of the design team, you will ensure that products and features are valuable, easy to use, and executed to the highest level of craft. Your focus will be: turning inspiration into action for shopping and discovery, empowering creators to monetize their content, and delivering quality experiences that solve some of the world’s biggest problems.
Responsibilities- Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into usable, valuable solutions for 3 billion+ users, driving product strategy and innovation across a large organization.
- Design leading‑edge concepts with end‑to‑end flows that impact broad user sets and use appropriate prototyping tools.
- Drive design prioritization and execution, keeping teams’ momentum to meet accelerated timelines.
- Design new experiences or layouts that evolve visual systems.
- Communicate strategic decisions about Instagram’s product direction.
- Give and solicit feedback from the broader product team, raising the quality bar while coaching others.
- Serve as a cross‑functional lead accountable for the initiative’s success, managing work‑stream operations when needed.
- Influence and align product direction across multiple organizations and partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
- 8+ years building and shipping applications at company‑level scale, leading end‑to‑end experience in a large, ambiguous domain.
- Interaction‑design expertise, understanding people’s needs and scaling innovations, using prototyping tools to demonstrate interactions.
- Visual‑design proficiency in typography, UI, color, layout, iconography, and aesthetic sense.
- Strategic product thinking, with experience developing product goals, identifying global opportunities, and making impact‑based decisions.
- Experience presenting work to executives, communicating goals and concepts clearly and succinctly.
- Experience with AI prototyping, coding, and productivity tools.
- Familiarity with leading e‑commerce shopping experiences.
- Understanding of the creator ecosystem and tools that drive better outcomes.
$201,000 /year to $278,000 /year + bonus + equity + benefits. Compensation depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
