Product Documentation Specialist ; Onsite​/Oceanside, CA

Job Summary

Create accurate Bill of Materials and assembly drawings for our ERP system that informs the Manufacturing and Assembly teams what to fabricate and how to assemble the product. This is a full‑time position with varied hours. Monday through Friday, typical shifts are 6:30 A.M. – 3:30 P.M. or 7:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.

• Interpret and create drawings for simple to complex product and assembly drawings to produce accurate BOMs.
• Create BOMs and drawings for individual parts, sub‑assemblies, and finished products.
• Modify or update existing BOMs to meet new specific requirements.
• Develop drawings for new custom parts needed in the BOMs.
• Work collaboratively with Engineering and Design Assist Departments.

• Proficient knowledge of Windows environment and related software (Outlook, Office, etc.).
• Knowledge of Solid Works engineering software.
• Understanding of Bills of Materials and their construction.
• Ability to learn new software and processes.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and diagrams.
• Willingness to analyze parts, assemblies, and production processes.
• High capacity to work methodically and under pressure to meet tight schedules.
• Comfortable with highly focused tasks.
• Computer program knowledge: MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), SharePoint, Solid Works, Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop (preferred but not essential).

• Minimum – High School Diploma with 1–2 years of drafting technician experience.
• College or associate degree in manufacturing or drafting technical education preferred.

• Proficiency in PC and engineering software.
• 3D modeling expertise.
• 2D technical drawing skills.
• Data base drawing management.
• Strong learning ability with excellent retention of knowledge and details.

• Light work.

• Professional office environment using standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
• Exposure to a variety of extreme conditions while walking the production floor.
• No travel required.

The range for this position is $36,000 to $64,800, depending on experience and geographic location. Acuity offers health care, dental coverage, vision plans, a 401(k) plan, and commissions/incentive compensation where applicable.
