We are looking for a motivated landscape architect with 3-5 years of experience to take on the role of Project Manager. Must have strong planting design experience, high proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Sketch Up. Experience with LandFX is a plus.
Requirements and qualifications- College graduate in Landscape Architecture or related field
- Landscape Architect License or active process to complete licensure
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience; five is preferred
- Excellent communication skills – expected to direct staff to complete their task in a professional and timely manner, communicating all needs of the client with a team located in California
- Full understanding of construction documentations and specifications
- Highly organized and able to manage internal project workflows, consultant teams, project budgets/schedules, and contract administration
- Able to manage more than six (6) active projects at any given time
- Able to assist in the preparation of proposals in response to the Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs)
- Represent SMP at client meetings and on client/team conference calls
- Mentoring of staff and job captains as needed
- Plan checks all work prepared by the Staff and Job Captain(s)
- Prepares project schedules and staffing requirements for project commitments to coordinate with the Team Leader
- Attends project meetings (with Team Leader or as the SMP project representative) with the client/client representative, consultants, and public agencies as needed
- Complete project from design phase (working with the lead designer) on through to the end of construction/maintenance to turn-over to the ultimate project owner
- Create addendums and new project scope of work for review by Team Leader
- Field RFIs and other questions during the design process and during bidding and plan check
- Perform site observations to include: site photos, notes of field walks, creation of punch-lists and completion letters for Team Leader review
- Complete project closeout to include: complete filing of all project documents, completion of a project information sheet for marketing, and notification of completion of the project to accounting
