Detailing Coordinator ; Structural Steel Fabrication
Location: Hillsdale
Position Summary
The Detailing Coordinator I supports the Engineering and Detailing Department in the preparation of detailed drawings and documentation for structural steel projects as part of Hillsdale Fabricators, a premier structural steel fabricator and erector.
This role contributes to the company’s reputation for delivering complex steel structures with exceptional precision, safety, and quality.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties- Preparation of detail drawings that comply with job specifications, design criteria, Hillsdale standards and applicable Code requirements.
- Preparation of erection drawings and/or marking plans required for the project.
- Preparation of material list requisitions.
- Coordinates with third party detailing and engineering firms.
- Coordinates with other trades as it relates to Hillsdale scope.
- Reads and follows set schedules.
- Participates in project meetings, including kick-off, closeout, and shop prep meetings.
- Travels to company and subsidiary offices; offsite client, subcontractor, and supplier meetings; and other locations across North America as required.
- Exhibits regular and reliable attendance in person as required by the supervisor and company guidelines.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer drafting or equivalent plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in Tekla, AutoCAD, or equivalent software programs is preferred.
