- Lead the architectural design and development of complex projects from concept through completion
- Develop design strategies that balance functionality, performance, scalability, budget, schedule, and technical requirements
- Prepare and review design drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and presentation materials
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and internal policies
- Present design concepts and recommendations to leadership, clients, and governance forums
- Participate in and support the Architecture Review Board process, including evaluation of design decisions and submission of waiver requests as needed
- Document, justify, and present architectural exceptions (waivers) for review and approval
- Define, analyze, and document data flows and models across systems, applications, and business processes to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and integration requirements
- Collaborate with internal IT teams and engineering stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior architects and project team members
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in architecture and design
- 10+ years of experience creating system architectures/design
- 5+ years of experience working in a cross-functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership
- Experience communicating complex concepts clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working in an aerospace domain
- Experience in cloud security architecture and design, with a focus on major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
