Physician - Hematologist​/Oncologist

We are seeking a skilled Hematologist/Oncologist for a locum tenens position through Barton Associates to provide coverage at a hospital in California. This 90-day assignment begins on 08/25/2025 and requires expertise in medical oncology and hematology procedures. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, with an estimated 16 patients per day. The physician will primarily work in an office/clinic setting (95% of practice) with some hospital duties (5% of practice).

The practice is approximately 40% hematology-focused. This opportunity offers a chance to contribute your specialized expertise in a diverse setting with potential for extension.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform medical oncology and hematology procedures

• Manage patient care and treatment plans in both clinic and hospital settings

• See approximately 16 patients per day

• Collaborate with ancillary staff including PAs, RNs, and NPs

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

• Adhere to all hospital protocols and safety standards

• Provide both hematology and oncology care, with a focus on hematology (40% of practice)

Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice in the state of California

• Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred

• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment required
