Job DescriptionThe Manager, MN Business Development leads the development and execution of regional and service line growth strategies for the Cedars‑Sinai Medical Foundation as defined by the Cedars‑Sinai Health System strategic growth plan. This role involves the comprehensive planning, execution, and communication of detailed quantitative and qualitative analyses to support Foundation growth; examples include quantifying the impact of healthcare trends on future demand, evaluating geographic healthcare markets and physician network dynamics, understanding patient referral patterns and gaps in the market, and crafting comprehensive clinical programs to address these identified needs.
In partnership with Business Development Physician Liaisons, the Manager works to drive market share and minimize network leakage by using medical claims data to develop targeted outreach plans that foster positive relationships with internal collaborators, external partners, and the community. To ensure the successful execution of these growth initiatives, the incumbent collaborates with cross‑functional teams including Marketing, Operations, Physician Recruitment, Finance, and Strategic Integration.
Additionally, the Manager is responsible for advising, developing, and supervising departmental staff, being responsible for budgets, and using outstanding analytical skills to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.
- Has primary oversight of regional/service line business development and market research activities, and in partnership with service line executive directors, is responsible for the efforts to grow the medical network, prevent leakage, and drive market share across assigned clinical programs.
- Uses external and internal data sources to execute complex analyses to inform demand for services across the medical network and participate in the development of regional/service line strategic planning.
- Provides direction, supervises day‑to‑day activities, and is responsible for the professional development of staff, including developing targets and driving performance against measurable goals.
- Helps drive cross‑functional decision making and alignment by clearly communicating the topic of discussion, summarizing and delivering a variety of strategic analyses and business/growth plans to support our decisions and the impact on the overall growth strategy.
- Partners with Finance and Physician Recruitment in development of new physician recruitment plans including development and articulation of strategic rationale and ROI.
- Promotes affiliates and generates new business growth against strategic plans through the general oversight of tactical outreach plans, including the identification of targets, processes to manage referral relationships, oversight of tools (IE CRM), and development of regular reporting on outcomes and ROI.
- Maintains positive relationships with Cedars‑Sinai and external referring providers and advises communications to advance the position and growth of CSMN physician alignment opportunities in those markets.
- Partners the development of CSMN’s population health strategy in new markets through identifying and supporting the build of a high‑quality primary and senior care network.
- Partners with Marketing and EIS in the development and execution of plans to promote clinical programs and online physician presence.
- Develops the departmental budget for review/approval by the Executive Director.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Science or related discipline required. Master's degree preferred.
