Position Description

The Division of Clinical Sciences at UCR School of Medicine is recruiting neurology faculty members within the Department of Psychiatry and Neuroscience. We seek dynamic clinician‑educators with interests spanning general neurology and subspecialty care, including but not limited to neuroimmunology/multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, and movement disorders.

Successful candidates will participate in inpatient and outpatient clinical practice, with an emphasis on providing high‑quality general neurology care in an academic setting, while also having the opportunity to develop or contribute to subspecialty programs aligned with their expertise. Clinical practice will occur at UCR‑affiliated sites in Riverside and surrounding communities, including the opportunity to contribute to the UCR Multiple Sclerosis Program, designated by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as a comprehensive care center.

These positions offer excellent opportunities for teaching medical students and neurology residents while building a career in academic medicine, with dedicated time for education, program development, and scholarly activity. Fellowship training in neuroimmunology/multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, movement disorders, neuromuscular neurology, or related fields is preferred but not required; candidates with strong general neurology skills and an interest in developing subspecialty expertise are encouraged to apply.

UCR is a world‑class research university with an exceptionally diverse student body and a mission centered on expanding access to educational success for underrepresented and first‑generation college students. A commitment to this mission and to advancing health equity is highly valued.

The successful applicants must qualify for an academic appointment in the Professor of Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical series at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. Candidates must possess an M.D. or equivalent degree, be board certified or board eligible in Neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and be eligible for medical licensure in California. Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to clinical excellence, education, and scholarly or programmatic contributions, and must qualify for medical staff privileges at UCR Health and affiliated hospitals.

Rank will be commensurate with experience.
