Job Description QUALIFICATIONS
- A Master’s Degree with emphasis in Educational Administration at the grade levels to which they are assigned.
- All principals shall have no less than two (2) years teaching experience at the level to which they are assigned.
- All principals will observe the Code of Ethics adopted by their respective professional groups.
- All principals must have appropriate certification in elementary and secondary administration from the Missouri State Department of Education.
All employees of his/her respective building.
JOB GOALTo be the instructional leader of his/her building who promotes the success of all students.
RESPONSIBILITIES- The conduct of their respective schools and for the condition of the school premises. They shall have the care and oversight of the building and grounds and shall be held responsible for their protection on the part of the students.
- Organizing and administering the school assigned in conformity with the approved policies of the Board and the superintendent.
- Contributing to the formulation and continuous evaluation of school policies, working cooperatively with the superintendent, other administrators, principals, teachers, and other school personnel.
- Cooperating with the superintendent in the supervision of all personnel assigned to the school.
- Cooperate with the superintendent in assignment, evaluation, transfer or dismissal of personnel.
- Coordinating the services of the faculty and all other personnel operating within the school in the interest of god instruction and acquainting the teaching staff with the course of study and seeing that it is property followed.
- All phases of student personnel administration within the building and shall, through the faculty, see that all students are acquainted with the school rules and regulations pertaining to the students.
- Planning and administering in-service training activities for the faculty of the school and cooperate in those involving teachers from more than one school.
- Carrying on, in cooperation with the teachers, continuous research relative to the school's program.
- Cooperating with the administrator in charge of instruction in the preparation of O curriculum guides and be responsible for assisting teachers in their use.
- Counseling with teachers on matters which pertain to their daily work, their efficiency and professionalism.
- Cooperating with the administration of the testing program of the district.
- Advising and reporting in the proper operation and maintenance of the school and inspecting the different rooms as often as necessary to ascertain their condition and see that the duties of custodians are properly performed.
- Keeping or causing to be kept, completely, accurately, and safely, all student records in the school. The records are to be available to ready reference to administrators, and teachers for interpretation to parents.
- Planning and administering the use of the school facilities so that maximum contribution is made to the well-being and education of the students.
- Organizing and administering a plan for making instructional materials provided available to teachers.
- All transactions between school and Central Office of the District, and shall be responsible for the accurate accounting of all textbooks, instructional material, and supplies as well as maintaining up-to-date inventories.
- Carrying on all phases of school organization and student administration to build and maintain a favorable attitude toward the school on the part of its parents.
- Providing the superintendent with all needed information relative to the school program, including the names of students enrolled who are subject to pay tuition and the names of the parents who are guardians of such students.
- Directing efforts in a constructive manner toward the coordination of all policies which constitute the Rules and Regulations of the Board.
- Maintaining hours at the school office so that the office is opened not less than one-hour before the start of school and closed no sooner than one-hour after the close of school.
- Cooperating with community agencies and assisting with special problems.
- Directing a program of teacher evaluation as outlined in the overall plan for appraisal.
- Perform such other duties as may be delegated by the superintendent or his/her designee.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
