The Team Member we are searching for
The ideal Substitute Teacher believes in, and is passionate about the mission and commitments of PUC Schools and exhibits this through their leadership, reflection, execution of school culture, and collaboration to ensure student success. The Substitute Teacher will teach and supervise assigned students with appropriate learning experiences in a credentialed authorized area.
What you will need to accomplish:- Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students
- Supervise students in a variety of school-related settings
- Assess, monitor, and evaluate student outcomes
- Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and community
- Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students
- Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competence
- Maintain appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices
- Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities
- Support the goals of the district by serving on special committees and other groups
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
- Must meet the CA Basic Skills requirements. Requirement can be met with coursework and/or passing scores on multiple standardized tests (AP, ACT, SAT, CBEST, CSET). To learn more visit (cl-667)
- Current California teaching credential OR a 30-day Emergency Substitute Permit. To review requirements, visit: (CL-505p)
Experience:
- Solid knowledge of subject matter, including California State Standards and subject-specific frameworks and assessments
- Knowledge of diversity in society, including diverse abilities, culture, language, ethnicity, and gender orientation
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook - Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

- Must be flexible and team-oriented
- Able to multi-task in a challenging environment
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of work
- Regular attendance, dependability and, punctuality in conformance with the standards are essential to the successful performance of this position
