Ednovate Background

Ednovate launched its first school in 2012. Since then, we’ve grown to eight schools and are on a trajectory to reach 11 schools in just the next few years (you can read more about our schools here ). Ednovate is committed to serving areas where students traditionally lack access to a quality college-prep education by building tuition-free, safe, high-performing public schools driven to create positive multi-generational change.

We are made up of world travelers, nacho connoisseurs, KPOP business owners, and Beyonce fans. We love LA and OC, and we're our students' biggest cheerleaders. We are looking to hire innovative changemakers who aim to continue our goal of becoming the high school experts across Southern California. Sound like you? Keep reading.

Position Overview

As a Culture Team Member at Ednovate, you will be responsible for implementing a caring and accountable culture that enables all students to learn in a joyful and rigorous environment. You will often serve as the first point of support for students experiencing behavioral challenges, using positive behavior intervention systems to maximize the time spent on learning. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong relationship building and communication skills looking to create positive multigenerational change in a collaborative, results-oriented environment.

This is an hourly, non-exempt role that reports to the Dean of Culture.

What You'll Do

Create a caring and accountable student culture. Meet culture goals, including goals for reducing school suspensions and detentions, and increasing attendance and NPS scores from students and families. Develop relationships with students to drive positive behavior through influence. Monitor student behavior and consistently hold students accountable according to our Student Code of Conduct. Issue "shoutouts" and "reminders" according to behaviors we encourage and misbehaviors we discourage.

Monitor reflection, lunch, dismissal, after school hours, hallway transitions, and special events. Intervene appropriately to de-escalate and re-direct students towards maximum instructional time.

Collaborate with staff and families. Support all school staff with behavior management as needed. Engage families to inform and partner around their child’s behavioral needs. Collaborate across teams to share useful information about students to create coherence and alignment in the support provided. Support the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans.
