Amerigo seeks team members that are aligned in our mission to energize North American educational communities through the diversity of students from around the world.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Regional Manager of Homestay leads the homestay strategy, field operations, and quality of Amerigo’s program across multiple California school communities. This is a field‑heavy, relationship‑driven role requiring consistent on‑site presence at partner schools and community events, a well as routine travel between school communities. This role is responsible for building and maintaining a strong network of high‑quality Host Families, managing a team of Local Homestay Coordinators (independent contractors), and ensuring a positive student experience throughout the school year.

This role does not provide academic support; it works closely with campus teams on student issues that intersect with housing and homestay life. The Regional Manager will work from a partner school as a home base and travel regularly across California‑based campuses.

A critical function of this role is Host Family recruitment and capacity building. The Regional Manager is responsible for developing and executing the recruitment strategy, conducting direct outreach, managing contracting, safety and documentation workflows, and maintaining Host Family capacity to meet enrollment needs.

This role owns student placement decisions and Host Family moves, and partners closely with campus leaders to support student success; disciplinary decisions remain with the Director of Campus Operations (DCO) and campus leadership.

The Regional Manager collaborates with the Director of Campus Operations (DCO), partner schools, Local Coordinators, Marketing, Admissions, Finance, People & Culture, and the Student Experience team. The role reports to the Senior Director, Operations (SDO).

Early Success Indicators (first 90 days)

  • Oversee Host Family sourcing, screening, onboarding, contracting, safety documentation, and retention
  • Ensure required home visits are completed; provide backup coverage if Local Coordinators are unavailable
  • Manage Host Family contracts, payments, and compliance documentation
  • Maintain Host Family inventory, capacity, retention, and quality
  • Build relationships with Host Families to promote retention and program consistency
Quality judgment in practice includes:
  • Knowing when to say no to a Host Family that is willing but not the right fit for a specific student
  • Balancing placement urgency with student wellbeing,…
