The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking applicants for the position of:
Middle School (grades 6-8) English Language Arts Teacher
For the School Year

Placement on Certified Salary Schedule based on education and experience

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with a valid Missouri certificate or eligible to obtain one in the area of 5-9 Language Arts
The successful candidate will:
* promote academic language to enhance student understanding.
* proactively plan for student engagement in instruction.
* use formative assessment to modify teaching.
* display and employ enthusiasm for teaching and expect students to enjoy learning.
* utilize the workshop model to teach reading and writing.
* demonstrate a solid understanding of language concepts for the grade level.
* have knowledge of the current shifts in education standards and practices.
* use data to plan and drive instruction.
* be a proactive communicator with parents.
* effectively collaborate with team, departmental, and grade-level colleagues.
* demonstrate effective classroom management strategies.
* collaborate with content teachers.
* knowledge of Units of Study curriculum is helpful, but not requisite
