Adjunct Ecology Instructor

Special Instructions

Yuba Community College District is accepting qualified applicants for possible temporary part‑time teaching assignments. These positions are filled based on the needs of the department and are on‑going recruitments.

EQUIVALENCY:
If you do not meet the specific degree requirements for an instructor in the discipline required, you may request equivalency before the final filing date. There are three (3) forms that you will need to download from the HR web site under FORMS titled:
Equivalency Determination Application, Statement, and Procedure – the information requested is required of all candidates not holding the stated minimum qualifications who are seeking consideration on the basis of equivalency.

BASIC FUNCTION :

• Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Ecology courses up to 10 hours/week
• Organize and teach all levels of Ecology classes
• Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning
• Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses
• Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester
• Participate in department, division, and college‑wide initiatives and committees if desired

• Master’s in ecology or environmental studies
• OR the equivalent
• OR see Interdisciplinary Studies
• Master’s in the interdisciplinary area
• OR Master’s in one of the disciplines included in the interdisciplinary area and upper division or graduate coursework in at least one other constituent discipline.

Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching experience that would demonstrate the clear ability to teach History to community college students.
