Raymore-Peculiar School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Deputy Principal to join our team for the school year! The High School Deputy Principal will serve as a key member of the school leadership team and work in close partnership with the current Principal to support the academic, operational, and cultural leadership of the high school. This position is designed as a one-year succession role, with the intent that the Deputy Principal assumes the position of High School Principal for the school year, contingent upon satisfactory performance and Board approval.
The Deputy Principal will engage in comprehensive leadership development during the transition year, gaining direct experience in instructional leadership, staff supervision, operational management, student services, and community engagement to ensure continuity, stability, and sustained excellence. Our ideal candidate is a compassionate and courageous leader who believes in building strong relationships, maintaining high expectations, and ensuring that every student receives a rigorous education within a safe and supportive school culture.
The qualified candidate should hold or be eligible for a valid Missouri Administrative Certificate. Experience in special education and/or school leadership preferred.
- Build relationships with families, students, and community stakeholders to strengthen trust, communication, and school engagement.
- Partner with the Principal and current administrative team to advance teaching and learning by supporting curriculum implementation, analyzing student achievement data, supervising and evaluating staff, and promoting continuous school improvement.
- Support building operations including master scheduling, staffing coordination, resource allocation, supervision of activities and athletics, and ensuring compliance with district policies and regulations.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and student-centered environment by overseeing discipline systems, supporting restorative practices, building strong relationships, and modeling high expectations for all students and staff.
- Engage in intentional mentorship and succession planning with the current Principal, assuming progressively increased leadership responsibilities, and demonstrating readiness for principalship during the transition year.
- Assume increasing responsibility for key principal functions throughout the transition year.
